Frequently Asked Questions!

What makes the JackClamp different from its competition?
It is modular, meaning that it comes apart and can be reassembled in different configurations. It also has an adjustable, removable top bar that no other bar clamp has. See JackClamp configurations.

What is the JackClamp made of?
The bars, triggers and brakes are 1050 hardened steel, all of the plastic components are make of 30% glass filled nylon. This makes the plastic components extremely strong. For example, it takes about 970 lbs. to break the jaw off.

How much does it weigh?
Three pounds which makes it extremely durable and strong without being bulky or cumbersome.

How wide will it clamp?
Fourteen inches with the top bar removed. However, it will clamp 34” with the new spreader jaw attachments.

When will a wider bar for clamping be available?
In the near future.  Be sure to subscribe to our Email updates to be notified of new attachments and specials. Just click the box to be included.

How wide will it spread?
    Thirty-four inches.

How many pounds will it hold when hoisting?
The average person can exert 250 to 300 pounds when working the handle. No matter what configuration you are in, jacking, spreading or hoisting, the forces are the same.

How many pounds will it hold when jacking?
We’ve tested it to over 500 pounds in a hydraulic press, but the average person can exert 250 to 300 pounds when working the handle. No matter what configuration you are in, jacking, spreading or hoisting, the forces are the same.

Are there instructions to explain how to assemble the clamp for the different positions?
Yes, currently there are text and image instructions mailed with the clamps. We plan to also have an instructional video available soon.

How many attachments are available for the JackClamp?
Currently, there are foot, v-jaws and spreader jaws attachments. See our attachment page here
to further explain how to use them.

Are the pads replaceable?
Yes, replacement pads are for sale at the bottom of our buyitnow page.  The pads are resistant to all known glues on the market we have tested.
